About the Program

Research shows that outdoor activity can boost your energy, improve your mental focus, reduce pain and enhances creativity. The benefits of the outdoors are seemingly endless.  Aside from the unmatched beauty that is found in nature, the health advantages are plentiful.

Brittanie Williamson leads our Equip Outdoors programming.  Britt’s impressive experience and extensive knowledge of nature adds immeasurable value to our participants.

In 2017, Britt set off on a 5-month adventure of hiking the Pacific Crest Trail, a 2,650-mile trail, from Mexico to Canada. It was the greatest experience of her life. In 2017, she and a friend, became the first American women to thru hike the Via Dinarica trail, an 800-mile trail that goes from Slovenia to Albania, crossing through Croatia, Bosnia, and Montenegro, following the Dinaric Alps. After that, Brittanie headed to France and completed the Camino de Santiago by hiking across Spain to the ocean.

Currently a trainer at CrossFit Novato and a surf instructor for Marin Outdoor Academy, Brittanie looks to continue sharing her love for the outdoors through her work. Brittanie has a BA degree in Exercise Science, is CF Level 1 certified, CPR certified, and Wilderness First Aid Certified.

Session

EQUIP OUTDOORS

WILDERNESS. ADVENTURE. CONNECTION.

Come explore beautiful Mt. Tamalpais while connecting with yourself, nature and the group. We will leave Saturday morning and transport to Pantoll Campground where we will set up camp, eat lunch, and then set out on our hike to the top of Mt. Tam. After hiking to the top and taking in the scenery of the city and the East Bay, we will head back to the campground for group activities, mindfulness practices, and dinner. We will hang out by the fire at night sharing stories and gazing at the stars. Sunday morning, post breakfast, we will hike down to Stinson Beach where we will meet Nicki, our surf instructor from Marin Outdoor Adventure, and put our wetsuits on, grab a board, and hit the beach for some waves! After the lesson we will enjoy some lunch then head back to the campground to transport back to Novato. The intention of this experience is to come into the present moment, unplug from devices and social media, and create a better connection with yourself, your friends, and with nature. This experience is suited for any fitness level.
